Water Features & Waterfalls

Water is one of the clearest places where naturalistic design shows. Elton deliberately avoids uniform, engineered "sheet fall" water movement, designing instead for irregular cascades, riffles, and stream-like paths that borrow the visual logic of real streams. As a water feature contractor in Charlotte, Plant Man builds landscape-integrated water design, not an isolated installation dropped into a finished yard.

Custom Water Features, Ponds, and Waterfalls

Custom water features, custom waterfalls, and pond design and construction integrated with the surrounding landscape: multi-tier boulder waterfalls, naturalistic ponds and streams, koi pond design, and recreational pond-style water features. This includes, on the Unionville Waterfall Project, a recreation pond that connects directly to the client's own private lake. Waterfall design and construction here means naturalistic water features, not swimming-pool construction.

Design Considerations

Water features are designed alongside planting and grading, not dropped into a finished yard afterward: how water interacts with the plants around it, how it reads from inside the house, and how people move around and across it (stepping-stone crossings, footbridges) are all part of the same design decision. Circulation systems, pump placement, and biofiltration (for features with fish, like koi) are engineered to support the naturalistic result rather than fight it.

Clear water is a filtration result, not an accident: a naturalistic feature with fish in it depends on biofiltration doing its job quietly in the background, the same way the rest of the water engineering does.
