The Plant Man Process

Real design work starts with a real site evaluation. Here's exactly what's in it.

1. Initial Conversation

We talk through your goals, how you use the property, what's not working, and what you're hoping to invest. Education starts here. This is where we figure out if we're a fit before anything else happens.

2. On-Site Design Consultation

A dedicated, in-depth walk of your property. This isn't a quick estimate visit: it covers design direction, construction approach, horticulture, grading and drainage, hardscape, water features, lighting, irrigation, and realistic costs, all considered together as one project rather than a list of separate line items.

3. Preliminary Design & Project Development

Typically around 3 weeks, depending on scope. This is where the design direction from the consultation becomes an actual plan.

4. Scope & Estimate

A clear picture of what's being built and what it costs.

5. Approval & Scheduling

Once the scope and estimate are approved, we schedule the work.

6. Construction

Design and construction stay connected throughout: decisions get adjusted in the field when something on the ground calls for it, the same way they were on projects like the Unionville Waterfall Project.

7. Final Walk-Through

We walk the finished property together to make sure everything is right.

8. Workmanship Warranty

One year on construction. Plant material is not warrantied, since a landscape's success depends on care and conditions after installation as much as the work itself.
